EFT : Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Techniques: (EFT) is a self help procedure to deal with emotional or physical disturbances, EFT tapping can easily be taught during an appointment for you to be able to use it at home. EFT was developed by Gary Craig, the theory behind EFT is that negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy system. So to release negative emotions we need to rebalance the energy system. 5000 years ago the Chinese mapped the complex energy circuits (named meridians) that run through the body. We have flowing through us and we create electrical energy that can be read from the brain and the heart in EEG and ECG recordings. We are not able to see this energy but this should not stop us acknowledging that the energy is there. We cannot see the 240 volt electricity that runs through our houses but we see the effects of it and we see the effects when it is not working. This is true of our own energy, negative emotions are symptoms of energy disruptions. If there is no disruption of energy flow through the meridians of the body then there will be no negative emotions. The energetic imbalance can be detected by muscle testing but this diagnosis is not essential. EFT tapping techniques help to clear energy through all the meridian channels so it is not necessary to identify the specific area of disturbance. The EFT tapping points are all meridian acupressure points. The EFT procedure involves voicing your concern or problem in the form of an affirmation whilst tapping on meridian end points, this clears the energy disturbance, and helps to resolve the issue. The basic EFT procedure and the EFT Shortcut can be applied to an endless list of emotional and physical disturbances.
